Friday 20th September.
The plan today is to purchase a metro card, similar to the
Oyster card in London, and find our way into town and go on a boat tour around
some of the sights of Copenhagen. Very enjoyable and something that I’d
recommend to anyone visiting here. After some lunch we made our way back to
Nyhavn, one of the spots on the tour. It’s a canal with some of the prettiest
and colourful buildings along the side, full of restaurants and bars. Very
popular with locals and tourists and apparently a bit expensive. We took lots
of photos and continued along the waterfront to the Admiral Hotel to check out
the building (an old warehouse made with metre thick walls and beams that you
just wouldn’t believe) and of course, have a beer.
First real souvenir purchase of the trip: I finally got my
Bjorn Wiinblad birth month plaque! Walked past a little set of street stalls
and bought it for a really good price from a bloke who was born in Manchester
but has lived in Copenhagen for 45 years. Still had his accent and could talk
the leg off a chair. I could barely get a word in!!
Getting late so a quick dash to find the ‘David Collection’
to check it out for another day. Turns out it’s free entry so we had a bit of a
look around while we there, but will go back for sure. Back to the Chech pub to
meet up with Linda and Ken for a pre dinner beer, pizza for dinner, and a few
beers/wines.
It's great to hear so clearly what you're up to. Carlsberg is a nice beer, you'll enjoy the brewery trip no doubt. Tell us about the tastings too. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThe brewery was really good, more interesting than I had expected Jenny. Can't believe we've had the most consistent fair weather here.
ReplyDeletesounds like you have landed in the land of beer!
ReplyDeleteThey love their beer here! So disappointed about the poster from the brewery though.
