Saturday 21st September.
Saturday morning is always a good time to hit the local
markets, because that’s when they’re on!! Linda and I hit them mid-morning but
didn’t find anything to buy. I did see one lovely thing, only because a lady
was waving it around thinking about buying it. I waited for her to reject it,
but she didn’t. Damn it!! Also saw the plaque that I bought yesterday and sent
Linda in to find out how much they were. Luckily, they were the same price as I
paid. Phew!!
After lunch we walked through the park to the Carlsberg
Brewery for a look through their museum and a couple of taste testers. It was
really interesting to see the process and to learn of the determination of J C
Jacobsen to perfect the brewing process, and the discovery of Saccharomyces Carlsbergensis, a
yeast that revolutionised beer brewing. Very thirsty work, good thing 2 beers are included in the
admission price. There are posters hanging in the bar and I was disappointed I
couldn’t buy the Carlsberg poster I wanted, nor my 2nd choice. Those
ones weren’t for sale.
Hayden would love this! High ropes course at the brewery. |
It was starting to get late by the time we finished up at
Carlsberg, and we wandered around Frederiksberg for a bit, trying to decide on
what to have for dinner. Finally, a decision was made and we went to the shop
where Linda and Ken buy ribs. Order placed, the drill is to go to the London
Pub nearby and have a beer while we wait for our order to be ready. So much
food!! Goes to show what a good relationship with the people who prepare your
food will do. Linda says she’s going to bake him a cake.
Treehouse!
